Orthosia hibisci

This species is abundant in the area. The caterpillars ("Speckled Green Fruitworm") feed mostly on Rosaceae, such as Holodiscus, Oemleria, Rosa, Crataegus, Prunus, Pyrus and even Geum, though I have even found it, exceptionally, on Gaultheria, Arbutus, Quercus and Plantago.
