I can usually guarantee to find full-grown caterpillars in late April in the hills surrounding Victoria feeding on the leaves of a poisonous (to humans) member of the lily family, Veratrum viride, and I have also found it on Urtica dioica and Geum macrophyllum. The moths emerge in or around July of the same year.
