  NOCTUIDAE

Peridroma saucia

Pearly Underwing

This species occurs in Europe, part of North Africa and the Middle East, as well as in North America. The caterpillar can be a horticultural pest and is known as the Variegated Cutworm. I had one caterpillar brought to me that was feeding on a friend's tomatoes, and a pupa that was dug up from another friend's vegetable garden.
