  NOCTUIDAE

Autographa corusca

My only encounter with this plusiine was when I found one resting on the front door of a nature house, where there was a public exhibition of local nature. I congratulated the staff of the nature house (perhaps to their bewilderment and amusement) for their thoughtful and exciting exhibit, and I managed to photograph it before it flew off. I have not seen the caterpillar, but alder has been recorded as a foodplant.
