In case you missed Dr Bennett’s talk on spiders this evening, there is to be another spider talk next week by another of our local spider experts – Claudia Copley.  Claudia’s talk is organized by a new UVic student insect club by the name of CICADA, with which we expect to maintain close contact.   CICADA assures us that all will be welcome.   (ECS = Engineering and Computer Science)

Jeff Gaskin writes:   Today, October 23rd, I saw a nice fresh Red Admiral at the top of Christmas Hill at 2:20 p.m today.  Also, there was the Painted Lady which may be the same one I saw here on October 12th and 13th.  I did a short walk in the Burnside/Gorge community but didn’t find any Cabbage Whites.
