 NOCTUIDAE

While nettles are recorded as a foodplant of this species, the ones I have reared have been on Red Alder Alnus rubra and Snowberry Symphoricarpos alba. Like several other plusiines, the caterpillar makes a cocoon on the foodplant and the moth emerges only a few weeks later. Consequently they are quite easy to rear.
