  NOCTUIDAE

Catocala allusa

This species is in many respects similar to C. aholibah, but its caterpillar is a willow-feeder rather than an oak-feeder. Like aholibah, the one allusa moth that I have reared was immediately active as soon as it had emerged from the pupa, and it would not allow me to photograph the hindwings, which are quite similar to those of aholibah.
