  GEOMETRIDAE

Drepanulatrix monicaria

The tips of the forewings of this moth are very slightly pointed or hooked - “falcate”. There is a slight superficial resemblance to the hook-tip moths of the genus Drepana of the family Drepanidae. It is, however, a geometrid, and the caterpillars, which feed on Ceanothus thyrsiflorus and doubtless other Ceanothus species, are typical of the geometrid caterpillars.
