TORTRICIDAE

Rhopobota naevana

New young leaves of Holly at the growing tips of the twigs are sometimes seen to be disfigured and dirty with frass. A small grey wriggling caterpillar will be found to be the cause. It is the young of Rhopobota naevana. The adult emerges later in the summer after just two or three weeks in the pupal stage.
